Cold calls are an effective way of prospecting, and serves as an excellent follow-up practice.
Calling prospects is a proven strategy for gauging interest and urgency. It also serves as an excellent relationship-builder. Picking up the phone and calling prospects can feel more time-consuming than sending emails. However, many users enjoy this method as it produces immediate response and adds a personal touch to their outreach.
How do I use Resquared to make phone calls?
If a business you found on Resquared has their phone number publicly listed, it should appear under the 'Communication' info when clicking on their business name.
By clicking on the phone number, the company will automatically be marked as 'Contacted' by phone call.
What is the best method for making follow-up calls?
Use Resquared to determine who you should follow up with over the phone:
1. After you have created your list of prospects and sent emails, filter your list by who you have already contacted.
2. Using the mail icons next to the business names, determine who may already have strong interest by how many times they have opened your original email. If you see a prospect who never responded to your email but did open it a few times, this is a sign that it may just be more effective to give them a ring!
3. Once you have determined you are going to give someone a call, click on their business name to pull up their contact info, and call the number if listed.
What should I say on the phone?
When using Resquared to make follow-up calls to prospects you have already emailed, you have an advantage from your typical cold call - this isn't technically a cold call at all! You have already reached out to them over email, and most likely they have opened and read the email by the time you are calling.
Here's a sample script you can use as a guide when making your follow-up calls:
"Hey, how are you? This is [name] calling from [company], following up on that email I sent you [x] days ago regarding the vacancy I'm working with in [space]. It looks like it'd be a great match for a [use case] store like yours - are you looking to relocate or expand right now?"
